Released in 2018, Doraemon The Movie: Norbita’s Treasure Island is the thirteenth movie in the “new” Doraemon series,
which began in 2006 with the Nobita’s Dinosaur remake. Similar to the Jim Henson film Muppet Treasure Island, it’s a retelling of the classic Treasure Island story by Robert Louis Stevenson featuring characters from the Doraemon franchise.
The film made more than $80 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing traditionally-animated film based on the Doraemon series.
